I have been going there since I was 3 years old and cannot get enough of the place. Every time I go back it feels like I am returning home. St. Thomas is great for shopping and it has a great beach called Megan's Bay which is rated as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. St. Johns, which is a short ferry ride from St. Thomas, is a gorgeous island not to be missed. It has national park status covering 60% of the island and, since not too much building can be done on the island, it will be kept pristine for years to come. Trunk Bay, which is a beach on the island, is even more breathtaking than Megan's bay. In my opinion, it is more beautiful than any beach I have ever seen in Hawaii. rnWhether you are stopping there for the day on a cruise or going for a week, you will not be sorry you went. One of the great things about the U.S. Virgin Islands is that it uses US currency and you do not need a passport to go there (assuming that is your only destination). However, if you are going there as part of a cruise, you will need a passport as you will be going to other places. For nature seekers, this is the place to go in the Caribbean.
