Celeste Koutavas, President and CEO of TripWitt.com, has worked as a travel professional for nearly twenty years.  She has worked in both corporate and luxury sales and as a sales executive for a large agency where she handled corporate clients.  Most recently, she has specialized in a niche leisure market as owner/operator of a home-based agency.  As a wife, mother (to two young children) and inveterate traveler, she can tell you the ins and outs of  her specialty like nobody's business.

Michele Nickolas, Vice President of TripWitt.com, has worked as a senior buyer for a large consumer products company for nearly a decade.  As a result, she understands better than most the importance of meeting the consumer's needs and leveraging buying power to everyone's advantage.  With market research as her touchstone, she prides herself on being a step ahead of the marketplace.  A wife and mother to two growing kids, Michele saw the wisdom in TripWitt.com and couldn't wait to get on board.

How It All Started

A few years ago, Michele, the definitive Internet shopper, booked a trip for her family to Walt Disney World.  She emailed Celeste a 'spreadsheet' created from her research that contained an overwhelming amount of information – even how far apart the restrooms were from attractions!  After suppressing a chuckle, Celeste asked "are you going on a vacation or a mission?"  Telling her friend to ditch the spreadsheet, Celeste provided an insider's perspective to the Magic Kingdom gleaned from her many visits, made family-friendly dining reservations and insured that every aspect of the trip would hit the mark.  Such was Celeste's attention to detail that Michele phoned in during her vacation (mouse ears firmly in place) to gush about their amazing days!

This experience crystallized what Celeste and Michele were already thinking:  travel professionals have much to offer the consumer and travelers can benefit greatly from the pros' buying power and insider niche.  Busy professionals such as Michele didn't need to do all the legwork themselves when someone with far more knowledge and expertise could provide a better itinerary at a competitive price.  TripWitt.com was born right then and there.
